VSA Assignment in Vanuatu

I am in Luganville, Vanuatu for a year taking part in a volunteering assignment with Volunteer Service Abroad/GHD involving the improvement of waste management practises there. The town dump is to be replaced with an engineered landfill. I am here to start the process of dump closure and locate a site that will be suitable to build a landfill on. This is the story of the assignment and the adventure. The opinions expressed here are my own and are not those of VSA (www.vsa.org.nz).

About Me

Don't worry folks, this blog will not be discussing waste management on every post. There will be interesting tales to tell, photos to gawk at and existential late night musings when the tropical, thundery, humid weather prevents me from getting any sleep. The internet connection here is slow so the blog will be nothing fancy. I hope to update once a week, but we will see how she goes. Check out the Luganville Waste Management Facebook page for more regular updates aimed at Luganville Locals.
