I am in Luganville, Vanuatu for a year taking part in a volunteering assignment with Volunteer Service Abroad/GHD involving the improvement of waste management practises there. The town dump is to be replaced with an engineered landfill. I am here to start the process of dump closure and locate a site that will be suitable to build a landfill on. This is the story of the assignment and the adventure. The opinions expressed here are my own and are not those of VSA (www.vsa.org.nz).

After a year in Luganville, Vanuatu on the waste management assignment with Volunteer Service Abroad I am now back at work in Auckland with GHD. The next phase of the project is an assignment for a Geo-Environmental Engineer/Scientist / Geotechnical Engineer which is now being advertised. Check out the link below for more details and please share with anyone within your network that you think might be interested in taking part. Its a great opportunity.
